Welcome to Apuman, a musical project born from the depths of personal exploration and a desire to break free from the confines of uncertainty. My name is Luis Alvarez, a Peruvian communication professional, and it is through my own journey that Apuman came to life.
In the midst of my first major crisis, when my job felt unstable and my future uncertain, I stumbled upon a spontaneous sign that led me to the path of music. It was in the city of Arequipa, Peru, where I began to uncover hidden aspects of myself. Little did I know that I had a singer's soul within me, a passion that had been silently brewing since my childhood.
Initially, I sought to uplift a band as a producer, but destiny had other plans. I found myself stepping into the role of lead singer, which eventually led to the birth of Apuman. The name itself is a testament to my roots and a fusion of Latin American influences. By combining the Quechua language, invoking the protective Apus mountains of the Incas, with the English word "man" that transcends borders, Apuman encapsulates a journey of cultural fusion and artistic exploration.
Apuman is a project that knows no boundaries, drawing inspiration from a myriad of influences and fusing them together through my creativity and the talented musicians I encounter along the way. It is a collaborative effort that yields a truly unique sound, transcending genres and inviting listeners to embrace the beauty of musical diversity.
